and passed away at Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers,
Florida, on March 7, 2007, after a valiant fight with Parkinson's

and was honorably discharged in July of 1946. He was employed by
the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 39 years, where he spent many
happy years as a District Sales Manager for Goodyear in California.Ed will be greatly missed and never forgotten, because he was our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ed leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Patricia Hammond Specht; brother, Mike Specht; and his wife, Sandi; children, Susan Specht Ogawa and her husband Russell; Debby Specht Selitrennikoff; Jeff Hammond; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ed was both a strong, athletic man and a strong family man, who had a fun-loving approach to life. Ed loved to travel with his wife, Patricia, and hike with his family in the mountains of Colorado. During the family vacations, he especially loved waterskiing, and in spite of his Parkinson's, he was still waterskiing in his 70s. A memorial service is planned for April 14, 2007, in Golden, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd, Miami, Florida, 33136-1494. |
