I don’t want to hear that I’ll feel better.
I don’t want to know that I will sing.
I don’t want to hear that I’ll be laughing.
I don’t know why, the words just sting.

I know in my heart your intentions.
I know in my heart you really care.
I know in my heart you want the best for me.
You know the pain; you’ve been there.

I know you said I have to leave her.
I know you said I must move on.
I know you said that others need me;
But for now, I must be withdrawn.

I really don’t mean to be sullen.
I really don’t mean to be rude.
I really am not unappreciative.
And I don’t want to be misconstrued.

I just need more time to feel better.
My feelings I just can’t explain.
All I know is that now I am hurting.
I just want to grieve and feel pain.
