The Computer College at Shell Point
An Activity of the Computer
College Steering Committee
MCL
Classes
The
Computer College Steering Committee (CCSC) is continuing to study the operation
of the Computer College to try to find better ways to meet the needs of those
residents wishing to take computer classes. The curriculum has been expanded to include more classes to
help you whether you are just getting into computers, improve your skills with
use of your computer or if you wish to learn more of the new technology. The classes are divided into Work
Shops, Regular Classes and the School of Technology. The Regular classes are further divided into 6 Categories,
ranging from Level 0 to Level 3 of difficulty. CCSC has developed a new ÒEvaluationÓ form which is designed
to help determine the needs of the residents and how well that goal is being
achieved.
Communication
Often
the question arises as to how we can best communicate with residents interested
in the Computer College. As a
result, the electronic communication, e-Notes was launched just before
the Spring 09 Term. This
newsletter now has more than 400 addresses reaching maybe 500+ residents. This has kept you abreast of happenings
in the Computer College and given you a Òheads upÓ regarding classes for the
next term. If you donÕt receive e-Notes, you may request it by e-mailing
ccsc8sp@gmail.com
Now the
Computer College Steering Committee (CCSC) has a new web page where you can
find a variety of items and links.
At the new page www.spccsc.net there will be a list of courses being offered with a link
to the course write-up as it will appear in the brochure. The previous issues of e-Notes as well
as many other interesting items will be on the new Shell Point Computer College
web page.
e-Registration
CCSC is
offering e-Registration to all residents
for the first time this term. An
e-Registration form may be obtained simply by requesting the form by sending an
email to ccscreg@gmail.com Any
form returned by the third day of registration will be treated exactly the same
as the form in the brochure. Additional
information can be found in the ÒRegistrationÓ issue of e-Notes.
Proctor coaching
A
number of the Proctors have offered to assist residents who may need a little
extra help with their classes. A
list of proctors can be found at the end of the class listings along with the
subject(s) for which they are qualified to help. (See page 22.)
