Give Joyfully

CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF THE SEASON

Each year, the Employee Christmas Gift Fund gives us the chance to reflect on what makes Shell Point so special: its people. Our dedicated employees bring care, kindness, and professionalism to their work every day, enriching our lives in ways big and small. Their efforts make this community more than just a place to live—they make it home.

This year’s theme, Give Joyfully: Celebrating the Spirit of the Season, invites us to embrace the joy that comes from giving back. With more than 1,100 Shell Point employees serving in roles across campus—from healthcare and dining to transportation, landscaping, and more—this is our opportunity to express heartfelt appreciation for all they do.

The 2025 campaign begins Wednesday, October 1, and continues through Wednesday, November 26. To participate, fill out and submit the form below.

All gifts are distributed equitably, with full-time staff receiving a standard amount and part-time or newly hired team members receiving a prorated share based on hours worked. Directors and above are not included in the distribution.

As we enter this season of generosity and goodwill, we hope you’ll join us in Giving Joyfully. Every contribution—no matter the amount—carries with it a powerful message of thanks to those who go above and beyond throughout the year. Together, let’s make this season bright for the employees who make Shell Point extraordinary.

Frequently Asked Questions

Residents respect Shell Point’s rigorous “no tipping” policy, yet many look for a way to show their appreciation for what they recognize as an extraordinarily fine level of service. One year, a group of residents serving on the Shell Point Residents’ Council conceived the idea and created the Employee Christmas Fund. This annual fund drive is completely resident-led.

Every employee below the “Director” level receives a gift. Administrators, physicians, and sales staff do not receive gifts from the Fund.

Shell Point has approximately 1,100 employees caring for, serving, and satisfying almost 2,500 residents. Understandably, full-time/full-year employees receive a “full amount” gift, while employees who are not full-time or are new hires receive a pro-rated gift based on the hours each worked during the year.

Gifts are usually distributed to employees the second week of December. You will hear more about this as the time approaches. Please plan to come; it is an especially joyful and moving experience, to share in the giving of our employees’ gifts. You will be glad you participated.

The monthly giving program allows participating residents to spread their annual donation over a period of time. As a matter of convenience, the monthly giving program renews automatically each year. However, a resident may cancel participation at any time by confirming this in writing to the Finance Department.

Tipping is permitted for the staff at these venues because they are open to the public and tipping is part of the employees’ everyday compensation.

We do not. We suggest you give from your heart based on what you have experienced in the way of care, service, and support. And, of course, based on what you are able to give. If you prefer to have some guidance, check the Gift-Giving Guidelines above.

It’s easy. Use the donation form on this page. The form works for a one-time donation OR for a monthly withdrawal program. It is sent electronically to the Finance department.

Of course, if you prefer to give by check, you can do so anytime throughout the year. You simply make your check payable to “Shell Point” and write “Employee Christmas Fund” on the memo line, then send it via Shell Point campus mail to the Cashier-Administration.
