The Resort Services department goal is to meet the social, creative, cultural and entertainment needs of Shell Point residents. Each month, nearly 20 programs and events are planned and scheduled by the dedicated staff. There’s everything from a fun lunch and shopping trip in Naples to catching a Miracle Baseball game at the nearby Hammond Stadium, or perhaps enjoying a themed dinner and dance at Shell Point.
At Shell Point, you will be delighted by the vast array of programs that are offered to you both on- and off-campus throughout the year. Resort Services also provides travel programs all over the world, as well as monthly trips to local and surrounding areas for the best in food, entertainment and educational outings.
How do you sign up for these events? On the last business day of each month, Shell Point Life magazine is distributed to your mailbox. In the Happenings Calendar section of the magazine is a listing and brief description of each event and program that takes place during that month. Take the time to read this section and decide which events and programs you would like to participate in. On the first business day of each month, you have the opportunity to sign up for your choice of programs either by phone, or in person at either the Island or Woodlands Concierge Desk. Sign-up begins at 8:15 a.m. and are based on a first-come first-served process. If the maximum enrollment number for an event or program is met, you will have the option of being added to the wait list. If space becomes available, you will be notified by phone. Some of the programs and events have a participation fee that is noted in the Happenings listing. This fee is simply charged to your Shell Point resident account upon sign-up.
The Let the Shows Begin theater and musical program offers entertainment selections from local Southwest Florida theaters. The Off-Site Program Coordinator organizes each trip to provide the best shows, tickets and transportation for Shell Point residents. All Let the Shows Begin programs are sent to your mailbox in early September. Each program includes a sign-up sheet for you to fill out with your desired theater selections, which can then be mailed or returned to the Off-Site Program Coordinator, in the Island Commons, for processing.
